New Training Camp for European Table Tennis Players in Gangneung: Encountering Asian Teams

In the cool air of early September in Gangneung, South Korea, a new joint Asia-Europe training camp by the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) is underway. Eleven European table tennis players have arrived here, eager to test themselves against familiar but challenging opponents from Korea, Japan, and Chinese Taipei. This is not just a regular training session, but a long-term talent development program lasting ten days, with friendly matches on September 5 and 8. They will then continue at the WTT Youth Contender in Gangneung itself. While not a points-relevant event, this training camp holds profound strategic significance for the development of European table tennis.
