According to a WPBSA announcement, the evening is designed to bring snooker into residential areas while sharing Smart Energy GB’s message about household energy savings. ‘Snooker on Your Street’ was launched earlier this year by Smart Energy GB and World Snooker Tour. The initiative has committed to supporting about 250 community snooker clubs across Great Britain. Unlike professional tournaments in closed arenas, this street version chooses familiar spaces such as local lounges and community venues. In Bristol, visitors can meet Steve Davis, take part in fun snooker challenges and win prizes. There are no rankings, no professional trophies and no competitive pressure. The real value is not in a flashy shot by Steve Davis; it lies in the campaign behind the table. Smart Energy GB is a government-backed organisation promoting smart meters. Alongside entertainment, attendees receive practical information about managing energy bills and using appliances more efficiently. The event is an example of community sport serving public policy, a model still rare in snooker. Steve Davis’s presence is a strategic signal. The financial terms are not disclosed, but a state-backed partner brings a different distribution channel.
