LCK 2026 Media Day: T1, Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports Show Mutual Respect and Caution

Before the 2026 LCK Finals, three teams T1, Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports attended a media day at CHZZK LoL Park in Jonggak. According to Inven Global, the event became a platform for coaches and players to openly discuss their opponents' strengths. Each team sent its head coach and two players, and no one claimed an easy victory. Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook said T1 is dangerous because of their high ability to create variables, while Hanwha Life Esports is difficult due to their aggressive plays such as tower dives. Yoon Sung-young of Hanwha Life praised Gen.G's comeback ability and noted T1's growing top-side pressure. T1 interim head coach Im Jae-hyeon said his team is monitoring Hanwha Life's early top priority and highlighted Gen.G's mature macro play. The three AD carries Ruler, Gumayusi and Peyz also exchanged sharp assessments. Peyz said both veterans have vast data and overwhelming experience. Ruler praised Gumayusi as a strong laner with clever reads, while Gumayusi highlighted Ruler's game knowledge, damage angles and consistency. Kiin, Kanavi and Keria added more insight, focusing on versatility, aggression and unpredictable plays. Hanwha Life previously came back from a 1-2 deficit to beat T1 3-2, while Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life 3-1 in the upper bracket final. The media day showed that all three teams have studied each other carefully and understand the specific threats they will face. The finals will be a true test of preparation and execution.
