Xavi Simons, born on April 21, 2003, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a Dutch footballer who plays as a midfielder. A product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. In 2021, he made his debut and helped the team win both the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France. In 2022, he moved to PSV Eindhoven, where he won the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield in a single season; he also shared the Eredivisie top scorer title with 19 goals. After returning to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, he was immediately loaned to RB Leipzig. In January 2025, he joined Leipzig permanently for a club-record transfer fee, and in August of the same year, he transferred to Tottenham Hotspur for £51.8 million. He has represented various Dutch youth teams. In 2022, he made his debut for the senior national team at the World Cup, becoming the youngest player ever to appear in a World Cup knockout match for the Netherlands. During the 2024 European Championship, he scored in the semifinal to help the Netherlands advance to the final, where they finished as runners-up.
